In the graveyard of ¡¯90s beauty trends, the shaved-in eyebrow slit was long ago laid to rest. But now, just like mullets, frosted lipstick and space buns before it, it has been resurrected from the dead. And we have Miuccia Prada¡¯s Miu Miu spring/summer 2021 show to thank for it.

Walking the runway with either one or two strips of hair removed (or obscured) at the outer ends of their brows, the Miu Miu models conjured a look that was ubiquitous for a period in the ¡¯90s. At the time, everyone from David Beckham to Vanilla Ice had a slit shaved in their eyebrow, and more recently Zayn Malik has experimented with the style statement.?

Chicer than the original iteration, at Miu Miu the split brows were paired with glowing skin courtesy of Vogue¡¯s beauty editor-at-large, Pat McGrath, and hair that contained enough gel to rival the teenage boys who shaved their brows in the bathroom the first time around. Though it¡¯s unclear whether any real brows were harmed in the making of this look (cleverly applied make-up is more likely to be behind it), expect an influx of imitations shortly.?
